The Style of FUJIFILM X-T50

Classic Design

FUJIFILM X-T50 follows in the footsteps of the iconic X100VI with a classic, dial-based design. The compact body weighs just 438g (0.96lb) 1 and, thanks to ergonomic styling, it’s a joy to use wherever your creative journey takes you.

The Style of FUJIFILM X-T50

Rounded Body Shape

X-T50 incorporates a new, rounded body shape. While slightly larger than the predecessor X-T30 II model, the styling makes it feel small without compromising handling. The thumb rest extends smoothly outward compared to previous X Series models, providing an impressive overall feel and grip on the body.

The Style of FUJIFILM X-T50

Film Simulation Dial

X-T50 features an all-new Film Simulation dial. Positioned on the camera’s top-plate, the dial offers both popular presets and the opportunity to select a personalised favourite option via the custom setting. It’s never been easier for on-the-go creators to select one of 20 built-in unique Film Simulation modes, including the latest REALA ACE.

Optimized for Creativity

Dial Operation

X-T50 houses shutter speed, exposure compensation, and all-new Film Simulation dials on the top-plate. Together with the aperture ring on most XF lenses, settings can be checked and adjusted, even without turning the camera on, leaving you to concentrate on what matters most: making the perfect image.

Optimized for Creativity

Electronic Viewfinder

X-T50 features a 2.36 million dot electronic viewfinder (EVF) with a 0.62x magnification ratio. The specially designed lens elements provide a high-definition live view, and includes an adjustable diopter control to provide a truly comfortable experience.

Optimized for Creativity

Tilting LCD

X-T50 incorporates a two-way tilting LCD, which offers complete versatility, particularly when working with the camera at waist level. The combination of tilting LCD and central viewfinder aligns the lens, camera, and photographer on the optical axis for comfortable, intuitive image making.

Processor & Sensor

Cutting Edge Image Quality

X-T50’s fifth-generation X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor, X-Processor 5 imaging engine, and up to 7.0-stop in-body image stabilization (IBIS) combine to deliver the highest image quality yet for X Series in a small, light body.

High Res 40.2MP BSI Imaging Sensor

X-Trans CMOS 5 HR

The high-resolution 40.2MP X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor has an enhanced image-processing algorithm that boosts resolution without compromising the signal-to-noise ratio, delivering astonishing image quality.

Twice the processing speed of X-Processor 4

X-Processor 5

AI processing technology.
Next generation HEIF image file format.
Reduced power consumption.

Up to 7.0-Stop IBIS

Lightweight, High Performance

A five-axis in-body image stabilization (IBIS) system provides up to 7.0 stops of compensation. Despite this, the camera body only weighs 438g (0.96lb) including battery and memory card.

Improved Features

Subject Detection Autofocus

X-T50 uses X-Processor 5’s subject detection AF to accurately track a range of subjects. Built using deep-learning AI technology, it detects animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, airplanes, trains, insects, and drones.2

Katelyn Neilsen | X-T50
Katelyn Neilsen | X-T50

Improved Features

Updated AF Algorithm

X-T50 incorporates an impressive autofocus prediction algorithm for reliable focusing even when recording continuously moving subjects. Autofocus enhancements are most notable in Zone AF and low-contrast situations.

Expanding Your Creativity

Film Simulation

The 20 Film Simulation modes offered by X-T50, including the latest REALA ACE, harness 90 years of Fujifilm color science, digitally replicating the look of classic photographic film stocks. Reproduce the classic colors and tones Fujifilm is renowned for, or add artistic flair to your photographic journey.

Katelyn Neilsen | X-T50

CLASSIC CHROME

Designed to reproduce a look similar to documentary magazines of the 20th century. Classic Chrome’s low saturation and hard tonal gradation in shadows make it a perfect choice for documentary photography with a touch of realism.

PROVIA/STANDARD

Based on FUJICHROME PROVIA, a reversal film designed for professional use, this Film Simulation mode caters for all subject types, offering a neutral color reproduction.

NOSTALGIC Neg.

Designed to recreate the look of images in old photo albums, NOSTALGIC Neg. produces images with rich colors in the shadows – and a soft tonality through the midtones and highlights.

ACROS

Based on ACROS, a monochrome film renowned for super-fine grain, this mode delivers rich shadow details and excellent sharpness, while still adding grain at high ISOs, and recreating the stunning textured feel of monochrome.

Expanding Your Creativity

Grain Effect

From subtle textures to the gritty look of traditional high-ISO film stocks, with X-T50 you can easily add natural-lookig grain to your photos. Control the strength and size for just the right amount of texture on any image.

Expanding Your Creativity

Clarity

The Clarity control lets you decide whether to recreate a scene with a crisp sharpness, defining edges and boosting contrast, or with a soft feel. With 11 levels of control, it’s easy to fine-tune to your personal taste and style.

Expanding Your Creativity

Color Chrome Effect

For highly saturated subjects, Color Chrome Effect adds depth, detail, and vibrancy in three strengths to red, green, or yellow tones where detail may otherwise be lost.

White Balance

Fine adjustments can be made to Auto White Balance (AWB) by selecting one of three modes: Auto, White Priority, and Ambience Priority. Set to White Priority, white is more likely to be accurately reproduced under incandescent lighting. However, when Ambience Priority is set, scenes will be photographed with the natural lighting characteristics of the scene preserved. Under incandescent lighting, this will generally result in images with warmer white tones.

AUTO Mode

In AUTO mode, the camera automatically recognizes and sets optimal exposure settings for any scene. It also features auto subject detection where the camera automatically detects and tracks the subject, keeping it in focus. This eliminates the need to adjust the subject detection settings manually for easy image making. The AUTO mode can also be used for video.

Multiple Exposure

Layer up to nine images in Additive, Average, Comparative Light or Comparative Dark modes to combine multiple viewpoints or different points in time. Various settings, including Film Simulation modes, can be applied to each exposure to produce a unique creative result completely in-camera.

Monochromatic Color

Monochromatic Color allows you to add subtle colour to monochrome images by choosing to emphasise Warm/Cool tones and Magenta/Green hues. It's the ideal way to add a personal touch to your black & white images.

Color Chrome FX Blue

Adds depth and naturally enhances the vividness of blue tones.

Improved Features

Video Functionality

X-T50 offers advanced video performance in a compact, lightweight body. Create movies up to 6.2K internally at 30p in 4:2:2 10-bit color. 4K/60p and high-speed 1080/240p are also available, maximizing video flexibility.

Video functionality

Improved Subject Tracking

Track subjects in your videos with ease. Select AF-C mode with Wide/Tracking AF, then simply touch the subject on the rear LCD. FUJIFILM X-T50 will track the object, even in situations where multiple subjects appear in the frame.

Video functionality

F-Log2 Support

In addition to F-Log, X-T50 also supports F-Log2, which records an expanded dynamic range of 13+ stops.3 This range is wider than current F-Log, broadening post-production potential.

Connectivity

Compatible With Frame.io Camera to Cloud

Create, share and collaborate in an instant with FUJIFILM X-T50’s native Frame.io Camera to Cloud technology. Wirelessly connect to an active internet connection, authenticate to Frame.io, and start uploading photos and videos at the moment of creation.

Connectivity

FUJIFILM XApp

X-T50 is compatible with FUJIFILM XApp, offering extended functionality and simple image transfer to your smartphone. Files can be shared between camera and smartphone quickly via Bluetooth, while the free, downloaded app also allows the camera to be operated remotely.

1. Including battery and memory card.

2. Set the SUBJECT DETECTION SETTING to BIRD for insect detection, and to AIRPLANE for detecting drones.

3. When recording F-Log2, based on Fujifilm internal testing.
