At the heart of Benjamin’s work is a desire to inspire people to see the world from a different perspective. Whether exploring somewhere new or revisiting familiar landscapes, he is continually drawn to the colours, patterns, light and fleeting moments that can transform the way we experience the natural world.
ABOUT MY PROJECT:
Finding New Perspectives in Nature – The FUJINON XF400mmF4.5 R LM OIS WR encouraged me to look beyond traditional landscape photography and explore the finer details of the natural world.
Travelling across Australia's east coast, from the Great Ocean Road to the rainforests of Queensland, I used the XF400mm to explore landscapes in a different way. Rather than focusing on wide vistas, I found myself isolating layers of light, distant ridgelines, sculpted sand dunes and subtle moments that might otherwise go unnoticed.
The lens encouraged a slower, more intentional approach to photography, helping me simplify complex scenes and discover new compositions within familiar locations. Its lightweight design meant it was always ready to go, whether I was hiking through rainforest, exploring coastal lookouts or chasing changing light across the landscape.
Looking back, what stands out most isn't just the places I visited, but how differently I experienced them. The FUJINON XF400mm challenged me to see beyond the obvious and uncover quieter moments within the landscape. Sometimes, a new perspective is all it takes to transform the way you see the world.
